Join us for Worship.

Sundays at 10am

The best way to make connections at Nokomis Heights is to get in the post-worship donut line. There’s coffee, donuts and lots of people to meet. If you’re a visitor, please consider this your formal invitation to hang out for fellowship and conversation after worship.

Enjoy coffee and conversation.

Another great way to make connections is to attend Adult Forum at 9am on Sunday mornings, before worship. You’ll find refreshments and your morning coffee there, too! Speakers have included city representatives, leaders in the environmental and racial justice fields and members of our own congregation with stories to tell. If you have ideas for Forum topics, contact us.

Join our lunch break Bible study.

Grab some coffee or your lunch and join us on Zoom every Wednesday for the Wednesday Lunch Break Bible Study. The preaching pastor leads this discussion about texts for the upcoming weekend. This is your chance to speak into the sermon before it’s written. Bring your heart and your lived experience; no specific scriptural knowledge is necessary.

Some weeks this study begins at noon, and some weeks it begins at 1:15pm. Check out our upcoming events or sign up for our newsletter for updates.

Ask theological questions.

Resident Theologian Marc Olson leads discussions about things like Lutheranism, communion, atonement theories, etc., throughout the year. Check our events for upcoming sessions.

Build your bilingual skills.

We offer English and Spanish language lessons for those wishing to get the most our of our bilingual, multicultural vision for Nokomis Heights. Check our events for upcoming dates.

Join our monthly meet-ups.

Try out our Monthly Meet-Ups for people wanting more social time through Nokomis Heights. Once a month we plan an outing for anyone who wants to join us. We’ve hiked at Lebanon Hills, gathered for a Vikings watch party and baked Christmas cookies together in the church kitchen. Check our upcoming events for information about the next meet-up.

Get involved through one of our three primary goals.

Connecting People to People – We will intentionally connect with each other across multiple languages and cultures, working together to alleviate isolation and celebrate God’s gift of diversity.

Sharing Food – We will invite people to address food insecurity at both the personal and systemic level, with a growing awareness of diverse cultures, diverse foods, and diverse relationships.

Accompanying Immigrants – We will become a haven for people who were not born in the United States.

Going to church solo?

There are all kinds of reasons people go to church alone. Maybe you're divorced, or your spouse has died. Maybe you're single by choice or by circumstance. Maybe you're married and your family doesn't go to church.

There are many of us who go to Nokomis Heights alone. We have started meeting for coffee regularly, and you are invited to join us! It's not a singles group and it's not therapy; it's a bunch of amazing individuals who have a lot of life, laughter and stories to share.

Also, if you would like to walk in to Nokomis Heights with someone, instead of alone, please contact us. We would be so happy to meet you at the door and join you for worship.

We also have book groups, quilters and stitchers, landscapers and groups focused on racial justice and care for creation. Please keep an eye on our upcoming events. You are always invited!

Not sure where you fit in? Contact us! We'd love to go out for coffee and talk about meaningful ways for you to connect in to the Nokomis Heights community.
