Help Needed for Lenten Soup Suppers!
If you were hoping to get a chance to serve a soup supper and have not yet been asked, the fellowship committee is looking for a few good volunteers to help set up, serve and clean up the March 24th soup supper. Please contact Elisabeth Pletcher-Harincar, 612-822-9975, if you are able to help out.

Help us save some cash!
Do you get the Sunday sales circulars and don’t have a use for your Michaels or Joann Fabric coupons? We can use them here at church to get discounts on craft items for the Sunday school and quilting supplies for the quilters. Want to help? Simply cut out your discount coupons and bring them to church on Sunday mornings. You can drop them in the coupon basket in the narthex. Please note that the coupons are time sensitive—drop off only the current week’s coupons. (Posted: 02/16/2010)

Baptism Instruction
Baptism instruction for parents and sponsors and those wishing to be baptized will be held on Saturday, March 27 beginning at 10:00 a.m. and ending with a light lunch. Please contact the office or Pastor Susan to register for this class no later than March 21. We’ve had a number of requests for baptism recently, so this could be a fun, big day of celebrating God’s love for us through the sacrament! Pastor Susan would also like a few helpers for the day—anyone who has been walking around wet for a few years and would be willing to share a little of their faith and time would be great! Please let her know if you can be a part of this wonderful opportunity.

If you are already a sponsor, please pass the word on to family and friends. Questions, or to acquire sponsorship form, contact Christine Hur-ney, 612-724-8447 or Ann Jensen, 612-825-3287. March is Food Share Month
In recognition of March Food Share Month, we’re asking you to consider donating dollars instead of food. While we continue to collect food and appreciate every donation, the food shelves are stretched thinner than usual and cash donations
offer more bang for your buck, your $10 can buy 160 pounds of food. Please consider adding a cash (or check) donation during the month of March. (Posted: 02/26/2010)
Winter Parking Restrictions In Effect!
Park Ban Rules are in effect until April 1st. Parking is only allowed on the ODD side of the street (east on 10th Ave and south on 53rd St). But we have a waiver allowing for continued parking in the designated handicapped area in front of church on the west side of 10th Avenue. We have also been approved to use the Hale School parking lot for Sunday mornings, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Let's try to being "green".... if you live close by, why not walk to church? Carpool with a friend, or even bike! It can be done. (Posted: 02/26/2010)
REAL Spring Event May 15; Auction Items Needed
Mark your calendars for the REAL Spring Event coming on May 15. There will be a Silent Auction (and a live auction, if we receive some large items) again this year, so please think about what you might contribute. A week at your cabin this summer? A time-share week someplace? Services you could offer? Businesses you know, where your personal request would yield a gift certificate or special item? Contact Ann Jensen about auction items. More event information and tickets will be available through Christine Hurney at a later time. (Posted: 02/16/2010)

Fair Trade Coffee Available!
Did you know that Fair Trade coffee is available for sale in the courtyard at Nokomis Heights? You can find it in the coffee corner, just outside the kitchenette. What a great way to make a difference in the lives of small coffee growers in countries such as Ethiopia, Tanzania, El Salvador, and Columbia! And it tastes great, too!! Give it a try—we think coffee tastes even better when drinking it assists a poor family!
